Welcome to the TownCrier’s Daily Discord Digest.

In this space, we at the TownCrier will attempt to provide a daily digest of select conversations at the Official GemStone IV Discord server covering a 24-hour period from 10 pm EST the night previous to 10 pm EST of the night listed in the title. Not all conversations will be (nor can be) reported and we will endeavor to utilize a neutral tone (although our unique senses of humor may show through).

Links may go to the Official Discord post itself, to the GemStone IV Wiki, or other useful and relevant places. In the case of Discord links, those links will send you to the Discord web interface. If you are not signed in, you will need to be signed in to see them.

The digest was created by and is edited by the player of Qafziel Nalfein/Darcena Wolf-Valslayer – Jen. Have an error to report on this digest or some information to pass along? Contact Jen on Discord at ArmyJen#0001 or e-mail her. Please reference which digest day to which you are referring.

General Gemstone IV

Evician asked, “so i just tried to bond to a black ora weapon, and i cast 1604 on it to “cleanse it” like you do, and then i cast 1625 to bond to it, and nothing happened. Is it a weapon that i just cant bond to?”

GM Quilic announced, “September’s QST is going to look a little different, the more I plan it out. Fewer “things”, but they’ll be BIGGER “things”. We’re closing in on the end of the story, and I don’t have a firm end date (it’ll be towards the end of the month, but it depends on what happens over the course of the month). It’ll 100% be finished by the end of September, though. And seeds have already been planted for what comes “next” (starting in November). QST will still proceed in September on the same schedule as before, but I’m putting some focus into making “things” be more momentous rather than having lots of little/subtle “things” going on. Time to wrap stuff up, after all!”

On the adamantine issue asked about yesterday, GM Coase announced, “Regarding adamantine, players can no longer break their items against it (as part of the item loss updates). Creatures can still break their items. Player items simply get knocked into the shadows and are always RECOVERable.” Crime replied, “Is this a fix now in place? because it wasn’t working with players at all. Shattered non-magical was a thing for players, honestly I prefer to not see anything from a player destroyed so this is great (though perhaps not as funny when you want to see it lol), and if now disarmed and recoverable, this is great too. Thanks for looking at this!

Traiva announced, “Make sure you’ve been through Landing TSSW to enter raffles! The first one draws tonight around 10:25pm ET for a specially designed tambourine and case from the House of Paupers; there is another raffle for a weapon from House Aspis that draws on Monday”

Raelee announced, “We don’t have a trove or an arena, but the Cairnfang Manor Seafarer’s Ball is going on now! Please feel free to drop by. We’re in #22117”

E-Blades and Scripted Weapons. Avawren asked, “Do Sigil Staffs block eblade?” GM Estild replied, “Yes. All scripted weapons do.”

There was a lot of chatter about the trove and items in the trove.

GM Estild announced, “FYI, being hidden and knocked into a trap isn’t a bug. It’s intentionally designed to do that.”

Giantphang suggested, “hey @Haliste perhaps a 10 second grace period before the next raffle begins so folks can collect their tokens? Or if you have a token ready to return, and you try to put a token in the drawer, instead of it telling you you can’t until you return it, it automatically returns it to you and then sticks it in the drawer? Either of those might fix the last bit of complaints about what seems to be a pretty rad system.”
