Not all conversations will be reported and we will endeavor to utilize a neutral tone (although our unique senses of humor may show through).

Updated: 8/6/2019 when Avawren noticed a typo wherein Qafziel jotted down “premium contest” instead of “premium fest.”

What You Missed

General Gemstone IV

#general

Milax announces there is a new episode of podcast Town Square Central featuring Luxelle (of TownCrier fame!) entitled Mother of Whispers.

#premium

After the channel was asked Darcena reminded everyone that the premium fest is upcoming from August 23-August 30 and relinked the post from Quilic. Some small discussion ensued regarding preparing alterations ahead of time. GM Quilic stated, “With the notable caveat that not every GM/Merchant appreciates the approach, feel free to also employ the, “I’m not sure exactly what I want, but I was hoping to get this altered into something kinda dark and formal” tactic if you corner one of mine.” Much later in the day, GM Quilic also stated, “There should be a healthy amount of GALD at Premium Fest. And honestly…EG is right around the corner [s]o get those lists ready.”

In a continuation of discussions of alteration styles and outfitting styles, Naamit mentions advice she received once that characters are wearing more than what is mentioned in their inventory description and minimalists are calling attention to just those few things tht are important in the moment.

Nick suggested in a lighthearted thread about decluttering pinworns that the premium transport pins could be removed and instead a verb created like premium transport. GM Quilic reminded us that the transporters are Chronomage technology that allow us to transport.

#mechanics

Tsalin aka Jeff brought up the sticky situation of using society powers in the Duskruin Arena, suggesting that perhaps Voln symbols shouldn’t cost favor in the arena. Most seemed to not agree and zeph mentioned that they had brought it up before because they wanted to know exactly how much favor they had.

GM Meraki asked some curiosity-only questions about how specific people would want their favor report to be and then also responded to talk of post-cap development asking what people would want (conversational only, not stating any work is being done on it). A variety of people responded and Darcena suggested that Leafiara round up the list of links of previous discussions on the forums on the topic. She did so:

GM Meraki then, probably unintentionally, kicked off a large discussion on how to mark GM treasure feeder items so that they are more noticeable as uniques when the GM noted that they prefer to “reward someone’s curiosity who stops and looks a little bit closer” on odd drops. Several players and GMs weighed in over the ensuing hours.

#help

Jaures asks some questions about Duskruin and gets them answered.

Puptilian, when talking about Mentor events, states, “Actually I throw this out to the masses. Us mentors usually do classes or events that we have a passion for or feel like would benefit the players. Like asked earlier, are there topics (please keep this serious) that you guys would like us to do? This is not binding but maybe an idea thrown out might get picked up by a mentor or spark an idea for something.”

World of Elanthia

#alteration-help

Avalera requested information on Faendryl cultural clothing. Darcena provided two links on Faendryl Fashion and Cobbling and the Faendryl Fashion Houses.

Questions:

  • Does your character have a tick, or odd habit, weird expression they make, etc? What and why? [Nimaera]
  • If your character was going to be turned into an undead monster, which one would you choose? [GK]

Darcena invites individuals interested in some collaborative storytelling to PM her: “I’m working on my forum post about the Witchful Thinking blight of the rolton herds right now. If anyone has a Landing-based character who would like to be included as having said something in Town Square Central to Darcena about the situation, gimme a PM?”

Avawren mentioned the usefulness of reference verb CALENDAR which prompts some other suggestions such as TIME and ALTER (Elysia), DEFINE (Darcena).

Darcena asks for help: “I have decided that my next Beasts, Monsters, and Legends night will focus on nedum vereri due to overwhelming number of people asking. If you have any stories, information, or things I should know about nedum vereri, please send me a PM or e-mail gs4armyjen@gmail.com. Darcena will give credit as credit is due.”

GM Vanah asks, “If the SIMPER verb got an update to work with styles, what would you guys like to see?”

SimuCoin Events and Quests

#duskruin

GM Estild says, “First and last call for Duskruin Spellbound spells.” Players suggested a lot of things.

GM Wyrom says, “Okay two HESS teasers. But I’ll post/talk about this all soon. Make a chainspear cert. Make an old-style coraesone weapon.” He later says, “Not that everyone loves javelins, but I updated chainspears to have parry DS.” And follows that up with, “HESS won’t be until Saturday. Lots of core Duskruin changes. I need to likely watch for bugs.”

GM Retser says, “You remove an ayanad crystal from in your leather backpack. What is this!?” Then he says, “load bow with crys You smash the ayanad crystal awkwardly against your bow. Your white sprite huffs in annoyance before saying, “The crystal goes in the crystal hole! Let me help you!” The white sprite on your shoulder begins to chant. Slowly, the ayanad crystal seems to melt into the surface of your bow. Your bow glows dimly before the light fades.” He continues,

fire
You nock an arrow in your bow.
You fire an arrow at a triton combatant!
AS: +430 vs DS: +200 with AvD: +20 + d100 roll: +22 = +272 … and hit for 38 points of damage!
Nice shot to the head gouges the triton combatant’s cheek!
You feel a slight sting as the sprite draws upon your power to attack.
The white sprite on your shoulder sends forth a cylindrical, white blast of magic at a triton combatant’s throat!
Neck broken.
The triton combatant twitches several times before dying. The triton combatant collapses, gurgling once with a wrathful look on its face before expiring.
Your bow continues to glow.
The arrow explodes with a white light.
Roundtime: 5 sec.

And summarizes, “At Duskruin there will be a side-unlock available for all bows that allow you to unlock this feature.”

#simucoin-store

PM Wyrom announces a nexus orb sale at the SimuCoin Store. He added, “I’ll run some more sales on other items starting Friday.”
