Subj: Successful Completion of Puzzles and Trivia

Shortly after opening, a few people voiced some concerns about the rewards on successfully completing trials. This is strictly talking about the end reward of experience, not the incremental additions to the brooch. When we created this event, we wanted to move away from the itemization issues that arise. We also wanted to move away from the random rewards that always become a hot topic.

It’s difficult to reward success without itemization in GemStone IV. As much as we try, we always end up circling back to it. At the end of the day, we want to give people a rewarding experience when they complete our quests, which in this case is puzzles and trivia, instead of surrendering or giving up.

So starting at the time of this post, successfully completing both puzzles and trivia will award a prize on top of the experience. The common prize will be lightening notes. The uncommon prize will be deepening notes of different varieties. And a rare prize will be an RPA orb. If you have a free hand, it will be delivered right to you. If you don’t, it will be on the ground.

Those that have already run, we aren’t letting you come up empty handed. Just ASSIST, GM Haliste or myself will get you a small prize pack so you’re not being short changed due to the updates.
