Subj: Solhaven's new Nightclub: The Black Iron Chalice
THEBLACKIRONCHALICE is a new entertainment nightclub venue that has arrived in the port town of Solhaven.
This is a sole-proprietorship and will be run like a business. As such, employees will be paid from the profit gained from overhead charges paid at the door and the remainder will be saved for future investment into a permanent location.
Incharacter: It is intended to provide an elite (and sometimes illicit) social hub for entertainment, conversation, networking and an escape from the vulgarities and boredom of the daily grind
Outofcharacter: This will function essentially like a speakeasy/club venue with themed events. Other role-players (effectively employees) will be encouraged to participate in roles like bartender, games masters, chefs, entertainers (music/dance/costuming, etc.) on a contractual basis. This will be an encouragement for participation in something new and fresh, as well as an opportunity for older players to utilize low level characters for the sole purpose of role-play. Be a well known games master, or be an anonymous entertainer. The choice is yours.

Greetings! I have a couple of applications so far and hoping to gain a few more. It isn’t a huge investment of time, if you’re willing to give it a try. It’s a PAID per event role (not a lot, since it’s like a small gig), so there’s no obligation to continue either.
I have a donation of a gambling wheel, darts and dice – so I’m looking for more games-masters with some creative input on entertainment. I also have super simple roles – for those that just want to get their feet wet – such as a cigar girl. I’m open to all kinds of creative ideas and creative people.
To answer a couple questions:
– No, there is not yet a permanent location. That is earned through the MHO system, and requires events in order to earn points. It can take a while, so I need the community’s support to see this idea to fruition. While I can rent a tent and travel anywhere if needed, the hometown will be Solhaven.
– Applicants are not members. They are individuals that are interested in trying out the roles offered as an opportunity to engage in roleplay. One of my applicants specifically felt it was a perfect opportunity to get a toe-hold into the current storyline and re-engage with the game again. Another wanted to reconnect with a facet of their roleplay they hadn’t had the opportunity to flesh out. If the employee is someone that wants to take on a more permanent role, then I will consider membership. However currently there is no obligation.
– Yes, I can accept donations. I think that’s very generous of those that have done so. I recently was given silvers and a couple of costume items to get things off the ground as well as a gambling wheel for a games master to use. Keep the theme in mind though. Costumes and props would be useful (especially in themes), since I really don’t have much to start with.
The first event will be an introduction of sorts, to give the community a taste of what we can (hopefully) bring to the table.
As soon as I have enough applicants, we can get started on venues.

Just chipping in again before the end of the month.
I’ve gained another entertainer and a chef (with some questionable references), which will get the ball rolling.
I already have a couple themed events in mind, that I hope people will enjoy. Since I got a late start this year due to the holidays, February will be more effort in getting the word out, and seeking more people interested in applying.
Our first event which I’m planning for March, will probably be some sort of talent scouting, so if you have an old ballad, dance, or even a handful of jokes – this will be an opportunity to limelight just for the fun of it. Got warrior tricks? Come on by, to role-play out those juggle reps. Animal companion? Role-play out that it can perform tricks for treats. This will be more of an ‘action speak louder than words’ to show off what this MHO will be about.
I’d also like to offer that the public can suggest ideas for what they’d like to see. What venues or themes are interesting? As more people apply, I’ll be able to get more creative and expand on interests and skill sets.
In no particular order, some of the venues on the agenda so far are:
* Bawdy Pub (songs and stories of innuendo – adults only! More of a low-brow entertainment venue.) * Desert Fire (dancing and drinking and fire!) * Ocean’s Tide (seaside dining and entertainment) * Macabre Madness (costume party, dining, and a ‘zombie run’. This might be more entertaining for employees, Mwaha!)

At the bar, learn how to pair wine and chocolate while you tease your palate with decadent tastes offered from around Elanthia. Afterwards, come dance until midnight in the ballroom. Bring a date, or come solo to enjoy the finer things.
I am still looking for applicants interested in helping with themed venues. Positions are: Bartender, Chef, Bouncer, Cigar Seller, Entertainer (song, dance, stories, etc)
