Well, to be fair:
The skin on your palm begins to crack and bleed. Each layer curls backward upon itself until a gaping wound has formed in the center of your hand, the twisted skin resembling petals on a flower.
The wound is painful but bearable, and as the seeping blood dries, the deformed flesh twists into the shape of a mournbloom and slowly rips away from the skin on your hand.
