The 120th celebration of the founding of Teras starts on Thursday, June 1 and runs until the 8th. There will be games, merchants, and all sorts of Teras-y things! Start planning now!
Attention all Terasians (and visitors and future guests)! We’re happy to announce a celebration to honor the founding of our great city by Ghorsa Borthuum, 120 years ago.
The festivities will be held the week of June 1-8, with some shops remaining open until the 9th. We will provide more details and a schedule of events the week before, but you can expect to see things like..
A hot air balloon! The reveal of an expansion to the Stormbrow Gallery! Food and drink native to all parts of Elanthia! Games and merchants! Shopping! Announcement of the verb contest winners! Citizens’ pins and souvenirs!
This is going to be a cultural event, not a massive gear-acquiring event, but we expect it to be great fun. Meanwhile, please continue to be on your guard, as the island’s seismic activities have still been occurring with more frequency than usual. Be alert! Stay alive to party with us for the anniversary!

Dear My Favoritest Liia, How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. I love thee to the depth and breadth and height my barbie-loving soul can reach… (even when you set me on fire) ~Issalya
Also, I am officially and publicly challenging Bremerial to a drinking competition to be held at this event! Bremerial can choose the beverages to be consumed.
— Faulkil
A powerful whirlpool is suddenly overtaken by a windy vortex!
My considerable thanks to those with a hand in arranging this auspicious event. Needless to say, I will be participating in every aspect of the festivities that my own schedule allows.
Oh, right! And a drinking game! Remember the ones from the Highman Games? We get to do that on the Rock.
You can challenge each other for real!

Oh yes! Favourite recreational activity of dwarves everywhere! Better increase my tolerance for non Ale alcoholic beverages in preparation. It’s a dirty job but somebody’s got to do it!
…that moment when your family say: “Lets have a few days away..” and you realise the day they want to go is slap bang in the middle of the Kharam Dzu celebration!
o.O
Steering them away from their chosen dates with the ease of a seasoned politician! haha! Fingers crossed!
>You got this! >Use a little sly logic, combining the next UK banking long holiday weekend (August 28th), to better save paid time off? > Roblar
Haha. Trying the application of logic. But I suspect bribery and moral blackmail may be more successful.
“You know how hard i’ve been working.. instead of a few days at the beach to enjoy this unusually fantastic weather, how about a week in Cyprus later this year?” (The Kharam Dzu festival is going to be more costly than I thought – haha.)
—
>drop them. they were holding you back anyway. family seems like a giant pain. >Archsenex
LOL. Will keep that option in reserve.. π
— >Wait… you haven’t told your family about us? > — Robert
Oh trust me, after 20 years.. they know!
“Wendy?” {growled response} “..uhhh i’ll talk to you later..” {whispered comment} “She’s on the computer…”
So I thought I’d set a contest as my way of celebrating the upcoming celebration.
LimerickContest
This contest is simple. Provide the last line for the limerick below.
Theprize will be the donation of 15 minutes of alteration time recently won.
A young Kharam Dzu dwarf named Zale Went to Bentock’s and drank too much ale He awoke in the bed Of a buxom red head {Your submission}
Keep it clean-ish please.. Can be funny, clever, imaginative. I’ll be judging. Will try and rope in some other judges too.
Just email your submissions to me at bremerial@gmail.com before 7th June, with the character name and i’ll announce the winner of the contest on the 8th June.
Can I ask for one submission per account (although I’ll have no way of checking)
Keep them coming. Loads of time. Email to me rather than posting here. I’d like them to be a surprise on the day. The hope is that they can be all read out during the celebration just before the winner is announced.
Onecorrection: can you get your entries in before 11:59pm EST on 5th June please. Then we can have the winner announced on 6th June at around 8pm, with the reading of all entries, before the appearance of dignitaries at Stormbrow Museum. Trying to work with the scheduling.
..and yes, I am one slightly over-excited dwarf! If I could find some way to give all entrants a prize, I certainly would! π
Ok this is the list of names of individuals who have submitted entries for the limerick contest. Remember submissions must be in before11.59pm EST on 5thJune and the winner will be selected from the chosen submissions and will receive a donated prize of a 15 minute alteration session.
All entries will be read out by myself in the large Garden Pavilion outside Stormbrow Museum [Glaes and Dragonstail] at 8pmEST on 6thJune. I will be inviting a town dignitary to come and listen to the skillful work of the poets – although I cannot guarantee his/her attendance. Then the winner will be announced.
Hope you can make the poetry readings.
Justtoremindyouofthecontestrules:
Simply submit the last finishing line to the following limerick and the name of the submitting character -(So just a single line, not a whole new limerick)

The verbs took a back seat due to some people’s schedules, but they will be implemented. I’m really sorry for the delay. My brain has been working on some other stuff for the Isle in the meantime, as well as Ebon Gate starting VERY SOON.
If you haven’t heard from me about this by the end of November (let me get through EG and check on a few things), bug me again. I’ll try to have an update sooner.
